The career community in 公共 and Professional Services at Jamestown 社区 College focuses on exceptional classroom instruction, internship opportunities, and career advisement provided by scholar-practitioners with years of experience in their fields. This career community prepares students for a variety of paths firmly rooted in community service and civic engagement.

Your first semester in 公共 & Professional Services

Are you starting your first semester in the 公共 and Professional Services career community, but don’t know which program to choose? You can enroll in Individual Studies and use one of our suggested Semester 1 schedules:

Human services and criminal justice:

  • INT 1555: Inquire
  • ENG 1510: English Composition I
  • PSY 1510: General Psychology
  • MAT 1500 or higher: appropriate math course for degree
  • HUS 1210: Intro to Human Service or CRI 1510: Intro to Criminal Justice or EDU 1510: Foundations of Education

Each schedule provides a solid foundation for the 公共 and Professional Services programs, with the flexibility to apply to other career communities if you later choose a different field of study.
